Orogun, Delta State — On a sunlit Sunday, 9 November, 2025, the narrow lanes of 10 Odia Street overflowed with music, laughter, and heartfelt celebration as family, friends, and community leaders gathered for the traditional marriage of Stephen and Mary.
What made the day extraordinary was not only the union of two hearts but the story behind it — a tale of loyalty rewarded, mentorship in action, and the kind of generosity that leaves a lasting mark on a community. Hon. Evangelist Felix Ogbajini, who first employed Stephen as a gatekeeper in 2021, personally sponsored the entire ceremony, turning a faithful servant’s wish into a moment of joy that resonated far beyond the couple’s family.

Evang. Ogbajini, whose bond with Stephen extends beyond employment, shared the story behind the celebration:
“The boy, Stephen, is my boy. I employed him as my gate man in 2021, but over time, he became more than that — he became like a brother and a faithful servant. When I first employed him, he had only one son. In my presence, he was blessed with a daughter, and over time, I saw in Stephen someone who had truly become part of the family. Earlier this year, I noticed his wife was pregnant, and I asked him, ‘Stephen, you already have three children now. What do you want me to do for you?’ He replied that he wished to marry properly.
So, by the special grace of God, I decided to sponsor his marriage ceremony from beginning to end. I handled everything personally — to the glory of God. I am happy because when God is with you, joy follows. It gives me great privilege and fulfillment to see this day.
Everyone has been praying for me, saying they have never seen such a thing happen before — not here in Orogun or anywhere nearby. I thank God for that.”
Using his influence and connections, Ogbajini invited a distinguished gathering of dignitaries, including Chief Hon. Chuks Erhire, Olorogun Dr. Austin Akpede, Evangelist U.C. Onoabedje (JP), Chief Brokojo, Chief Cecilia Kaine, Hon. Felix Oderohwo, Hon. Regina Edeki, Great Edesiri, Henry Wanogho, Ovoke Oteri, Hon. Friday Onemu, Mr. Shadere, Mr. Reuben Imonisa, Mr. Edi Rufus, Mr. Oruese Onome, Mr. Oghor Akpobarobaro, and Mr. Ogidi Onosdan, among others.
The couple’s gratitude was palpable. Stephen, now a husband and father, said:
“I appreciate this man who stood by me to sponsor my marriage. It’s only God who can bless him. I cannot repay him. May God raise him, protect him, and bless everything that concerns him. Amen.”
Hon. Felix Ogbajini’s act goes beyond generosity. It embodies mentorship, community-minded leadership, and the importance of investing in people. In giving without expectation, he strengthened bonds, inspired trust, and left a lasting legacy — a model of humanity that the Orogun community will long remember.
By evening, the festivities had settled into dancing, laughter, and fellowship. On that modest street in Orogun, the day stood as a testament to the values of loyalty, compassion, and service — showing that true leadership and generosity leave enduring impressions on the lives they touch.
