NIESV Delta to Examine Rising Rents and Real Estate Dynamics at 2025 MCPD Seminar

The Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV), Delta State Branch, will on Thursday, October 23, 2025, hold its Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (MCPD) seminar at Orchid Hotels, DBS Road, Asaba.

According to the announcements signed by Esv. Peter Ozili and Esv. Solomon Ehikwe, the seminar, approved by the Estate Surveyors and Valuers Registration Board of Nigeria (ESVARBON), will address the theme “Real Estate Investments in Delta State: Costs, Risks, Returns, and Stakeholders’ Responsibilities – A Case Study of Rising Rents and Real Estate Dynamics.” The annual MCPD provides a platform for estate surveyors, valuers, investors, and policymakers to examine emerging challenges within the property market, especially the economic and regulatory pressures influencing rental trends in Delta State.

The lead paper will be delivered by ESV (High Chief) Chudi Ubosi, FNIVS, who will explore the broader theme by analyzing the relationship between costs, risks, and returns in the evolving real estate landscape.

The sub-theme sessions will feature a distinguished lineup of professionals. Ekemejero Ohwovoriole, SAN, the Honourable Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Delta State, will make presentation on “The Interventional Mechanisms on High Rent Rises: Delta State Government Perspective.” ESV Christian Oghenekohwo Omoru, FNIVS, will examine “Regulation and Rent Control: How Feasible and Enforceable in the Real Estate Investment in a Capitalist Economy.” ESV Melody Odumah, FNIVS, will address “Cost and Value: How Far or Close Apart?” while Prof. Idu Egbenta, FNIVS, will speak on “Stakeholders’ Role in Real Estate Investments: Risks and Returns.”

The host is ESV Peter Ozili, FNIVS, while ESV (Chief) Victor Alonge, PNIVS, FRICS, FCIOB, President and Chairman of Council of the Institution is the Chief Host of the event which will also feature ESV Aderenle Fatima Olowokure, FNIVS, Chairman of the National MCPD Committee of NIESV.

The event which can be attended physically and virtually is expected to attract professionals, policymakers, and investors across the country. It will not only fulfil mandatory professional development requirements but also foster informed dialogue on sustainable real estate growth, fair rent policies, and the shared responsibilities of stakeholders in building a balanced property market in Delta State.
