The National Democratic Congress (NDC) campaign train swept through Ethiope East on Monday with Okakuro Barr. Aghwarianovwe Novwe Ikie, the party’s House of Assembly candidate for Ethiope East State Constituency, at the forefront of the party’s grassroots outreach.
Led by Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, CFR, and the governorship candidate, Deacon Chris Iyovwaye, the train made stops at Oviorie-Ovu, for Wards 4, 5, 8 and 9, and at Kokori Inland, for Wards 6, 7, 10 and 11. At Oviorie, the delegation received an electrifying welcome, which the campaign said reflected growing calls to reset Delta State.
The highlight came in Kokori, where Olorogun Engr. Paul Omemiroro Evwierhoma, a top leader and financial backer of the APC in Ward 6, formally joined the NDC. He was received by Iyovwaye, Omo-Agege, House of Representatives candidate Barr. Kelvin Okoko and Chief Barr. Ikie.
Welcoming the new member, Ikie pledged to work with him for the victory of the NDC across Ethiope East. Iyovwaye described the defection as a sign that the NDC is the party to beat in 2027 and assured Evwierhoma that he would be involved in all party activities.
Ikie also joined the leaders in consulting constituents in Wards 6, 7, 10 and 11, taking the party’s message of hope directly to the grassroots.
The tour showcased the party’s message: Omo-Agege is restoring the greatness of the Urhobo nation, Iyovwaye is leading the push to reset Delta, and Ikie is putting all before self. For the Ikie campaign, that people-first principle defines his candidacy and his commitment to the people of Ethiope East.
