-When a Leader’s Service, Courage and Good Heart Resonate With the People
By Prince Henry Efe Duku, Esq.
Convinced that politics should be managed to unite people to achieve the common good and not as a weapon to tear our people apart as sworn enemies, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, CFR welcomed everyone with open arms.

Demonstrating his typical fidelity to any agreement he commits to, the Obarisi of Urhoboland made unbelievable sacrifices and concessions in the interest of peace, unity, and good, resourceful governance.
In the midst of even extreme provocations, the Deputy President of the 9th Senate of the Republic demonstrated uncommon admirable leadership qualities, sticking to his ‘peace and oneness’ option while advocating for better mutual understanding, equity and fairness for all stakeholders.
However, taking his ‘peace and oneness’ option, sacrifices and sincere heart as weaknesses and mistaking him for a conquered force, they opened a floodgate of unimaginable wickedness and oppression to decapitate the good man and all his genuine supporters. They abused, rubbished, and spat daily on his treasured organic support base – a most sore point for him, yet he remained on his chosen path and simply admonished those responsible to do better.

To speed up, promote and consolidate their evil agenda against him, they lied, lied, and lied to the envy of even Satan. With absolute disdain for due process, they went all out to brazenly steal and seize what the grassroots overwhelmingly and rightfully wanted for him, and pumped champagne in celebration of this oppression.
Resting on disingenuous scholarly authority, some even summoned the audacity to write laughable sophistry to justify their empty celebration of the political funeral of the good man who lifted them from pitiful localness and miry clay generally, and then planted their feet on political solid rocks. They mocked the resurrection roles God used him to play in their lives at critical times.
In all of these, they forgot the ‘God factor’ in human affairs. They forgot that true power belongs to the people in our constitutional, democratic Republic. They forgot that power belongs to God. They forgot that because he clearly represents the truth, he cannot be buried without a divine resurrection. They forgot that he is a man who is always sustained by his deep faith in the resurrection power of Jesus Christ.
So, while the plots were ongoing, he moved boldly light years ahead of them with a firm anchor in the Nigeria Democracy Congress, NDC. And in just a few months, the NDC is now a direct or indirect home to all our people who hate oppression and particularly what has been done to him by the people he loved, embraced and helped to stand. Home to all those who trust him to once again stand boldly and resourcefully for them in the Red Chamber. Home to all republican minds who do what is right by their good conscience, not what is dictated to them by soldiers of fortune.
Clearly, Obarisi is a revolutionary phenomenon in our politics. A phenomenon that defies oppression, intimidation and pettiness. One that connects deeply with the grassroots. One that is trusted to offer fruitful leadership. Not one that hides timidly under the canopy of oppressors, does nothing great and is happy about zero positive accomplishments.
The game is just about to begin, really.
