Ughelli town in Delta State came alive on Saturday as Prosper Ejiro and Oghenefegor Okiemute were joined in holy matrimony in a ceremony marked by elegance, tradition, and heartfelt celebration.
The couple exchanged vows at the Bishop Agori-Iwe Memorial Anglican Church, in a service where they were urged them to walk in unity, purpose, and love.
The reception, held at Rhoda Hall, Wetland Hotel, was graced by prominent guests from across Delta State and beyond. Pharmacist Prosper, the groom, is a valued Supretendent Pharmacist at Chief Paul Okogu’s Kefteg Pharmacy Ltd. in Ughelli—a connection that added a personal touch to the event.

Chairing the occasion, Chief Paul Okogu, accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Kate Okogu, praised the couple’s union as “a testament to the enduring power of love.” In his address, he offered heartfelt advice: “Marriage is not something you wear and remove like clothes—it is once and for all. Wherever you are, your wife should be with you. What affects you should affect her. Confirm and support each other, especially in trying times.”
He emphasized the importance of love, companionship, and wisdom, reminding the couple that “a wise woman builds her home, but a foolish one tears it down.” Chief Okogu concluded by calling on all to celebrate generously, noting that the day was one of joy and abundance.
Chief Okogu also facilitated the presence of several dignitaries, including HRM Ibok Ibok, Edidem Afaha of Akwa Ibom; Chief E.T. Opone, President General of Orogun Kingdom; Hon. Victor Okemena Egbo of DESOPADEC (aka Last Mugu); and Tina Eze Orlu. The event featured vibrant cultural displays, soulful music, and spirited dancing.

As the festivities drew to a close, Prosper and Oghenefegor stepped into married life surrounded by blessings, laughter, and love—ready to begin their journey together.
