Asaba, Delta State – The Urhobo Progress Union (UPU), Asaba Chapter, has congratulated the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, on his second anniversary in office, commending his administration’s developmental strides and strategic governance decisions.
In a goodwill message made available to Oghwoghwa Reporters and signed by the Chapter President, Olorogun Comrade Austin Akpede, Ph.D., the UPU Asaba Branch praised Governor Oborevwori’s visionary leadership, describing his two years in office as impactful and transformative.

The group highlighted key achievements under the Oborevwori administration, including “massive road infrastructure, the construction of flyovers and bridges, prompt payment of the new national minimum wage, improvements in education and healthcare, digitalization of government processes, and enhanced economic growth that has boosted investor confidence in the state.”
Beyond the physical infrastructure, the UPU Asaba Chapter commended the governor’s political foresight in aligning Delta State with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. According to the statement, “This strategic alliance reflects a deliberate and thoughtful move to position Delta State within a national framework that can better facilitate the state’s development objectives and safeguard the interests of Deltans.”
The UPU noted that this decision underscores Governor Oborevwori’s pragmatic approach to leadership and his resolve to secure sustainable progress for the state. “We see this alignment not as a partisan shift but as a purposeful collaboration for the good of Delta and her people,” the Union emphasized.
While acknowledging the gains of the governor’s M.O.R.E. Agenda—which stands for Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security—the Union described the policy as “a beacon of hope and a driving force for value-based governance.”
“As you mark this significant milestone, we celebrate not only your accomplishments but also your courage, vision, and commitment to a Delta State where prosperity is shared and peace is sustained,” the message concluded.
Governor Oborevwori, who emerged as the state’s chief executive in 2023, continues to enjoy support from across various Urhobo groups and Delta communities for his people-centered leadership and inclusive governance style.
