The Idjere-Orogun community on December 26, 2025, held its Annual Development Conference, where leaders reviewed ongoing projects and adopted fresh resolutions aimed at strengthening discipline and accelerating development.
Addressing the gathering, President-General Comrade Oyibo James Aghogho said the community had remained resilient despite prevailing economic pressures, attributing recent progress to unity and shared responsibility.

He announced a major boost to the Community Town Hall project, disclosing that the Egenu and Ezomo families jointly raised N10 million to fund the roofing of the facility. Aghogho described the Town Hall as a legacy project meant to serve as a centre for meetings, dispute resolution, and collective planning.
The conference also recognised Mr. Pius Ughanogho for his notable contributions to community development, including the restoration of electricity to the area last year and a N500,000 donation in 2024 for the purchase of 50 bags of cement.
Several resolutions were adopted to strengthen participation and accountability. Branch roll calls were increased from N1,000 to N2,000, while individual roll calls were reviewed upward from N500 to N1,000 for men and from N300 to N500 for women. Members who speak during meetings without approval from the PG will pay a fine of N1,000, while late coming attracts a N500 penalty.
In a further move to enforce commitment, the conference resolved that members who refuse to attend the annual conference will pay a fine of N50,000 whenever they have any ceremony to perform in the community.
Comrade Oyibo urged members to continue to uphold the values of love, unity, and generosity, reaffirming his commitment to transparent and inclusive leadership as the community looks ahead to the new year.
