OROGUN, Delta State — As part of activities marking his birthday celebration and the 2026 Children’s Day, community leader and philanthropist, Amb. Monday Enudi, has donated hundreds of exercise books and other educational materials to three public schools in Orogun Kingdom, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

The beneficiaries are Emonu Primary School, Emonu Comprehensive High School, and Efe Primary School, Otorho-Orogun.

In addition to the notebooks, Enudi donated a set of school drums to Emonu Primary School and a grass-slashing machine to Emonu Comprehensive High School to support learning and improve the school environment.

Speaking during the presentation, Enudi reaffirmed his commitment to advancing education and encouraging academic excellence among young people in the community.

He announced plans to reward the best-performing student in each class across the beneficiary schools and assured school authorities of his continued support.

He also took note of some of the challenges facing the schools as highlighted by their principals, promising to explore ways of addressing them in future interventions.

The gesture drew commendation from teachers, school administrators, and community leaders, who described Enudi as a committed advocate for educational development.

A teacher at Emonu Primary School, Mrs. Grace Osadjoku, said the donor had consistently demonstrated his love for the school and the community through various interventions.

“In the past, when the school lacked enough chairs, he came to our aid. He also facilitated the repair of the school gate when it was in a deplorable condition. Today, he has returned again with educational materials and support for our pupils. We are grateful for his generosity and concern for the future of our children,” she said.

Chairman of the Emonu School Management Committee, Mr. Lucky Umukoro, noted that Enudi had remained faithful to his promises since first expressing interest in supporting schools within the community.

“Last year, he supplied educational materials to the schools, and this year he has returned with even more support. The notebooks have been distributed to pupils and students, while the grass-cutting machine donated to the secondary school has already been tested and found to be in good condition.

His contributions continue to make a positive impact on education in our community,” Umukoro stated.

He added that Enudi’s example should inspire other well-meaning individuals to contribute to the development of schools and community institutions.

Also speaking, the Vice Principal (Academics) of Emonu Comprehensive High School, Mr. Johnson Ekure, described the intervention as a significant boost to teaching and learning.

“We are delighted, not only because Deacon Monday Enudi has visited us, but because he has brought smiles to the faces of both students and staff. What he did last year remains fresh in our memory, and this year he has expanded his support. The donation of learning materials and a slasher will go a long way in addressing some of our needs and improving the learning environment,” he said.

Ekure commended Enudi for consistently redeeming his pledges and prayed for God’s continued blessings, good health, and prosperity upon him.

Students of the beneficiary schools also thanked Enudi for the gesture.

The event formed part of Enudi’s annual community outreach efforts aimed at supporting education, promoting academic excellence, and contributing to the development of public schools in Orogun Kingdom.

Stakeholders at the event expressed optimism that the intervention would not only ease some of the challenges faced by the schools but also encourage other sons and daughters of the community to invest in the education and welfare of future generations.
