Centre LSD to hold 1-day Leadership and Development Dialogue (LDD), tagged “Nigeria Agenda 2050 and the Incoming Administration.”

The dialogue is the second in her series of policy dialogues for 2023. This theme has become an imperative sequel to President Muhammadu Buhari’s launch of the new long-term national development plan-the Nigeria Agenda 2050 (NA 2050), intending to ensure that the country attains a Per Capita GDP of $33,328 per annum. The launch of the long-term development agenda is a welcome development, first because of how crucial it is for a developing country like Nigeria. And secondly, Nigeria has operated for decades without any long-term agenda. Luckily, President Buhari, at the twilight of his administration developed one for the next 37 years.

This dialogue, therefore, presents the opportunity for stakeholders to have a shared understanding of the aspirations espoused in the Nigeria Agenda 2050. It will also be a forum to interrogate the process of its crafting, content, and extent of multi-stakeholder engagements in arriving at the final document. It will proffer recommendations that the incoming administration can adopt towards the effective implementation of the plan.

This Policy Dialogue is scheduled to hold as follows:

Date: Thursday 15th of June 2023

Time: 10 am-12noon

Venue: Zoom.
