Pere Esuku Tuomo Kingdom Honours Chief Ebioke for his Enduring Love and Commitment to Ijaw Nation

In a momentous ceremony at the Palace of Pere Esuku Tuomo Kingdom in Burutu L.G.A, Delta State, Chief Kigho Lucky Ebioke, from the Great Idjerhe-Orogun Kingdom in Ughelli North LGA of Delta State, was bestowed with the prestigious title of “Izon-Ebetare-Owei” meaning “The Man Who Loves the Ijaw Nation” of Tuomo Kingdom.

The event held on the 10th of February, 2024, was graced by His Royal Majesty, Honourable Justice Dr. F.F. Tabai JSC, Pere Esuku I, the Ebenanaowei of Tuomo Kingdom, along with esteemed guests and community members.

Chief Kigho Lucky Ebioke’s remarkable journey of love and dedication to the Ijaw nation was highlighted during the ceremony. Many years ago, he found love in the king’s daughter, Emi, and embarked on an arduous journey traversing countless kilometers across land and sea to marry her. This act not only symbolized Kigho’s deep affection for Emi but also signified his profound love and commitment to the Ijaw nation.

In his address, HRM Honorable Justice Dr. F.F. Tabai JSC commended Chief Kigho Lucky Ebioke’s unwavering devotion and sacrifice, emphasizing the significance of his love story as a testament to the enduring bonds that unite communities and cultures.

Accepting the prestigious title with humility and gratitude, Chief Kigho Lucky Ebioke, in a chat with Oghwoghwa Reporters, expressed his heartfelt appreciation to His Royal Majesty and the entire Tuomo Kingdom for the honour bestowed upon him. He reflected on his journey with Emi and how their love story has transcended boundaries, becoming a symbol of unity and resilience for both the Ijaw and Urhobo people.

“I want to first of all thank God for orchestrating the crossing of my path and Emi’s. I also want to express my gratitude to His Majesty, Pere Esuku I, the Ebenanaowei of Tuomo Kingdom, for considering me worthy of this Chieftaincy title as his Son-In-Law. I will never take it for granted, and I am committed to upholding the enduring love and dedication I have not only towards my dear wife, the Tuomo Kingdom, and the Ijaw nation but also towards all of humanity.”

In a related development, the President General of Orogun, Chief Barr. Benson Ndakara, High Chief Emmanuel Ogobene JP, Adjerese Oghene-Meshack Anuku, Hon . Patience Odiri Awero (JP), Mr. Felix Akpoobaro, Mr. Onwara Ogbevire Omosomuofa, Engr. Onwuka Clifford, Hon. Chief (Mrs) Ese Osawota, Mr. Mgbonyebi Ejiroghene, Capt. Newman Akpore, Mr. Orogunfere Felix, Hon. Ebu Joe, Sir Ochuko Wanogho, Mr. Foster Akpore and others have congratulated Chief Ebioke for being a Worthy Ambassador of Orogun, and by extension, Urhobo to Ijaw Nation.

“I have known Kigho Ebioke back in Orogun Grammar School, Orogun as a standout figure, particularly due to his impeccable sense of neatness. His neatly ironed shorts, crisp white shirt, and confident swagger never failed to draw admiration. Although I had left before he put on his trousers, I can bet it was the same story of neatness.

“Moreover, his command of grammar was quite impressive for someone his age. I know he has maintained those qualities.

“Who knows if it was Kigho’s impeccable neatness and impressive command of grammar amongst others that captured Emi’s heart and led her to accept his marriage proposal?

“I would also like to express my gratitude to HRM Honourable Justice Dr. F.F Tabai JSC, Pere Esuku I, the Ebenanaowei of Tuomo Kingdom for blessing the union when Chief Kigho Ebioke first sought his approval, and for deeming it appropriate to bestow upon him a traditional title.

“I celebrate with the family of Chief & Mrs. Kigho Ebioke, not only because we come from the same kingdom, but because I am considered part of their family.

“I have hosted them severally for days and during their stay I saw a decent and wonderful couple in them.

“Beyond Orogun, I am one of those contributing to the strengthening of their marital bond. I witnessed the union of this inseparable couple years ago, and I am grateful to God for answering my prayers.

“The presentation of an award plaque and certificate by the Palace of Pere Esuku Tuomo reflects a corporate and dignified standard that sets an admirable example for us all in Orogun. This is something we should all aspire to learn from and emulate.
