The member representing Ughelli North Constituency I and Chairman, Committee on Public Petitions, at the Delta State House of Assembly, Honourable (Barrister) Matthew Onojighofia Omonade, has sent a message of hope to constituents, Deltans and Nigerians on the occasion of Nigeria’s Independence Day Celebration, October 1, 2023.
In a goodwill message conveyed to his media office, Barrister Omonade expressed positive motivations on the need for Nigerians to mark every October 1, which according to him, is a significant day in the evolution of Nigeria as an independent nation. In his words:
“I believe strongly in the Nigerian project, and it is significant to always celebrate the history of its emergence as an independent nation. Though we are confronted with myriads of social challenges, with hope, unity, patriotic efforts and commitment, we can heal and put it on the path of growth. We are gradually marching towards light! I strongly believe that our sacrifices as citizens will yield great results.
“On the proud occasion of Nigeria 63 independence celebration, it is with deep pleasure that I wish our dear nation prosperity and progress and extend same to you for your unhindered trust and sincerity of hope for our future and your desires to help in the fulfilment of these hopes.
“The annual independence celebration is always a time for retrospection of how far we have come and how well we have done. Even though our progress has been somewhat slow, but, we are not where we used to be, believing that the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bold program for a “RENEWED HOPE” would usher us into our goal, which can only be achieved by strong and independent people.
“To help in this guise, provide leadership assistance prerequisite to our continued developmental progress, I have, as a representative of the Ughelli North Constituency I, offered myself in service for impactful representation that will make you witness to such inevitable necessity. So, be hopeful for the better days ahead.
“Again, let me offer my congratulations to you and to all Nigerians both at home and in diaspora. I am confident that this 63rd year anniversary has come with more rewarding opportunities. God bless Delta State, God bless Nigeria!”
