OROGUN, DELTA STATE – June 15, 2025
By Foster Akpore
The Okpara-in-Council of Imodje Subclan, one of the five foundational subclans of Orogun Kingdom in Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State, has firmly dissociated itself from the purported “Orogun Efe Kingdom,” describing it as a divisive initiative alien to the customs and traditions of the kingdom.

In a communiqué issued at the conclusion of a meeting held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, and signed on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at the Palace of the Okpara of Imodje, the subclan unequivocally rejected the gathering convened in Emonu on June 7, 2025, which was reportedly led by Miss Bennis Agbonifo of the Ogwa Subclan.
According to the communiqué, the Imodje subclan stated that the individuals from Imodje who attended the controversial event—namely Mr. Alexander Ejenadia, Chief Young Akpude, Mr. Gabriel Akpude, Mr. Christopher Akpovwovwo, and Mr. Aghogho Ofunaba—did so in their personal capacities and without the backing or mandate of the subclan.
The subclan reiterated its unwavering loyalty to Orogun Kingdom, affirming its allegiance to the traditional leadership under His Royal Majesty, Okorocha Emoghene, Osuokpa I, the Okpara-Uku of Orogun Kingdom, and the President General, Chief (Barr.) E.T. Opone. It emphasized that Erose Efe remains the sole recognized spiritual heritage of the kingdom, and declared that the notion of an “Orogun Efe Kingdom” is entirely foreign to Orogun’s identity.
In a strong show of support, the Imodje subclan reaffirmed its commitment to the leadership of Chief (Barr.) E.T. Opone, whose tenure as President General it said is duly zoned to Imodje under the kingdom’s rotational arrangement. The subclan condemned efforts by what it described as “internal fifth columnists and external conspirators” to undermine the unity and progress of the kingdom for selfish ambitions.
In a disciplinary move, the communiqué announced the immediate suspension of Mr. Alexander Ejenadia from his role as Omo-Okpara of Imodje, citing actions considered inimical to the subclan’s unity and that of the broader Orogun Kingdom. A successor, it said, would be named in due course in line with traditional processes.
The subclan further pledged its unflinching commitment to the unity, peace, and stability of Orogun Kingdom, urging all sons and daughters of the land to remain vigilant and uphold the collective heritage of the kingdom.
Commending Chief (Barr.) E.T. Opone for his calm, courageous, and visionary leadership, the communiqué called for continued peace, vigilance, and dialogue in addressing any internal disagreements.
The communiqué was signed by:
HRH Moses Erheromebe Ejenadia – Okpara of Imodje
Chief Isaiah Umukoro – President General, Imodje / Chairman, Idjezue Community
Mr. Alfred Urhie – Chairman, Ekaro-Imodje Community
Mr. Ovie Enawene – Chairman, Ikpide-Imodje Community
Mr. Friday Akpomedjero – Secretary, Imodje
Mr. Benson Ozor-Idiegware
Mr. Aaron Okonodo – Youth Chairman
