In a significant development, the Delta State Government, headed by Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has given the approval for the presentation of the Staff of Office to His Royal Majesty Omoefe Ozenikpe I, who was coronated over a year ago as the Okpara-Uku of Orogun Kingdom in Ughelli North Local Government Area, following an Eleventh Meeting of the Delta State Executive Council held at Government House, Asaba on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
When the President General of the kingdom, Chief Barr. Benson Ndakara broke the news about this significant development on Friday, October 27, 2023, jubilation erupted in the entire Orogun kingdom, prompting an outpour of goodwill messages to the Okpara-Uku and gratitude to the Delta State governor.
Chief Barr. Benson Ndakara, while breaking the news to all sons and daughters of the kingdom, congratulated the revered monarch and thanked the Delta State governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for the kind gesture shown towards the kingdom.

In the same vein, the Omo Okpara-Uku of Orogun, Chief Emmanuel Rex Omoefe who had earlier been concerned about the delay in the presentation of the Staff of Office to the Okpara-Uku, which has gone to Exco thrice and was rejected due to perceived political undercurrents, thanked the governor of Delta State Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for finally putting a smile on the face of the Okpara-Uku and the good people of Orogun Kingdom.
He equally thanked the Ovie of Ughelli, His Royal Majesty, Wilson Ojakovo Oghoghovwe Oharisi III, and other Royal Majesties of the Oghwoghwa extraction for their fatherly support and guidance, the President General of Orogun Kingdom, Chief Barr. Benson Ndakara who has been a uniting force and pillar of support, and other gladiators, too numerous to mention who contributed in one way or the other.
According to the release, the appointment of His Royal Majesty Omoefe Ozenikpe I as the Okpara-Uku of Orogun Kingdom is effective from 5th August 2022, the date on which he was traditionally installed. His monthly stipends will be disbursed after the official presentation of the Staff of Office.
Additionally, the State Executive Council has authorized the publication of this appointment in the State Gazette, further solidifying the significance of this appointment.
