ASABA – Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori, has approved the appointment of Chief (Barr.) Warri Ojarikre Dennis as Senior Special Assistant (Political), in a move aimed at strengthening the administration’s political engagement and governance structure.
The appointment, which takes immediate effect from 22 July, 2026, was conveyed in an official letter issued by the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Kingsley Eze Emu.
According to the letter, the appointment was made “at the instance and pleasure of His Excellency, the Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori.”
The letter further stated that the position attracts the remuneration and benefits approved for the office, including a basic salary, accommodation allowance, motor vehicle maintenance allowance, furniture allowance, domestic staff allowance, entertainment allowance, utilities allowance and leave allowance.
Congratulating the new appointee, the SSG wrote: “Please, accept our hearty congratulations and best wishes.”
Responding to the appointment, Chief (Barr.) Warri Ojarikre Dennis, who is also the ‘Ugherughe’ of Orogun kingdom, described it as a defining moment in his political journey.
“This appointment represents the first political patronage I have received since I became actively involved in politics. I am deeply grateful to His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff F.O. Oborevwori, for finding me worthy of this responsibility. I see this not only as a call to greater service but also as a sign of better things to come for Orogun Kingdom. I remain committed to contributing my quota to the progress of Delta State and to ensuring that our people continue to have a strong voice in government.”
Political observers say the appointment underscores the Oborevwori administration’s continued efforts to consolidate its governance framework by bringing experienced hands into key advisory positions while broadening political inclusion across the state.
