The Ejiro & Otive Igbuzor Foundation is thrilled to announce the eminent lineup for the 16th Chief Demas Akpore Annual Memorial Lecture slated for December 15, 2023, at the prestigious Government College hall in Ughelli, Delta State.
This annual Memorial Lecture, established in 2008, stands as a tribute to the revered late Chief Demas Akpore, celebrating his impactful leadership in the former Bendel State, now Edo/Delta States, and across Nigeria. It serves as a platform for insightful discussions on contemporary leadership and developmental strategies.
The Foundation has a rich history of impactful initiatives, from scholarships to fostering cooperative societies, supporting widows annually, providing Information Technology training, and establishing the Niger Delta Resource Centre in 2009. With the successful hosting of fifteen previous annual lectures featuring distinguished figures, this year’s event promises to be exceptional.
Themed “Between Advocacy and Intervention: The Sacrifices of CHIEF DEMAS AKPORE,” the 2023 lecture will be graced by prominent personalities. Distinguished Senator Ede Dafinone from the Delta Central Senatorial District will honor the occasion as the Special Guest of Honour, while Dr. (Mrs.) Veronica Ogbuagu, former Delta State Commissioner of Education, will chair the event. Renowned journalist and entrepreneur Mr. Abraham Ogbodo will deliver the keynote address.
Evang. Godspower Odenema, Prince Efe Duku, Ms. Ejovwokoghene Eguolo, Barr. Godwin Odjegba, and Mr. Efe Agabi will actively participate as discussants, contributing to a vibrant exchange of ideas.
