The Delta State Government, led by Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has graciously approved the presentation of the Staff of Office to His Royal Majesty, Omoefe Ozenikpe I, the Okpara-Uku of Orogun Kingdom on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Okpara-Uku Palace, Otorho, Orogun, in Ughelli North Local Government Area.
Information made available to Oghwoghwa Reporters by Chief Barr. Benson Ndakara, President General of Orogun kingdom, indicates that the confirmation of the highly anticipated date sparked jubilation across the kingdom, with an outpouring of goodwill messages from Orogun sons and daughters both at home and in the diaspora to the Okpara-Uku, expressing appreciation to Governor Oborevwori.
According to Chief Emmanuel Omoife, the Omo Okpara-Uku of Orogun, the conclusion reached during the Eleventh Meeting of the Delta State Executive Council at Government House, Asaba, on October 25, 2023, has been formalized through the State Executive Council Conclusion Act via the Office of the Deputy Governor, underscoring the government’s commitment to preserving and honoring the cultural heritage of the State.
“Now that the Government House have confirmed the date, all sons and daughters of Orogun Kingdom are cordially invited to honor the Okpara-Uku and join him in showcasing the uniquely rich culture and warm hospitality of the Orogun people to His Excellency, the Governor,” Chief Ndakara said.
