Orogun Kingdom Gears Up for Youth Empowerment at Orogun Youth Arise Conference 2024, February 11

Orogun, Delta State

Endorsed by the Okpara-Uku-in-Council and the President-General of the Orogun Kingdom, the Orogun Youth Council, in collaboration with Alliance for Leadership, Equity and Good Governance, will organize the Orogun Youth Arise Conference 2024 on February 11, 2024, in response to the urgent call for the active involvement of Orogun youths in sustainable development.

Guided by the insights of His Excellency, Rt. Hon (Elder) Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, and Prof. Sunny Awhefeada, the Orogun Youth Arise Conference 2024 is dedicated to empowering Orogun youths. The transformative event seeks to address the escalating frustration among Orogun youths resulting from the shortage of job opportunities. Aligned with the kingdom’s abundant natural resources and business opportunities.

A release jointly signed by the President General of Orogun, Chief Barr. Benson Ndakara, and Orogun Youth Council Chairman, Mr. Ovoke Oteri, made available to Oghwoghwa Reporters states that “The Conference seeks to address recommendations from the Orogun kingdom Conference of 2021 and to create a youth-friendly environment in the contemporary Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous and Digital (VUCAD) world, with a central goal of serving as a platform for dialogue and action on vital issues affecting the community’s young population.

“This initiative aims to empower Orogun youths by providing them with the knowledge, skills, and resources essential for thriving in the VUCAD era. Key objectives include engaging youth in critical discussions, reintroducing scholarship programs, establishing an empowerment framework, and promoting networking and collaboration”, the release further said.

The conference will showcase eminent speakers such as Chief Barr. Benson Ndakara, Pastor (Dr) Otive Igbuzor, and Prof. Sunny Awhefeada. Activities encompass panel discussions, interactive sessions, and the launch of youth-centric projects.

Special guests expected at the event include Hon. Matthew Onojighofia Omonade (DTHA, Ughelli North 1), Hon. Sylvester Oniemo Ovbije (DESOPADEC Commissioner), Amb. Dr. Favour Obakoro (SSA on Morals and Diaspora Affairs to the Delta State Governor), High Chief Emmanuel Ogobene (JP), Chief Do-Good O Efe-Nogo (JP), Oruese 1 of Orogun Kingdom, Activist Blessed Ughere (UPU Youth Wing President), while Most Sup. Evang. Akintoye Emmanuel, CAN Chairman, Orogun Unit, would be the Spiritual Father of the day.
